The theatre district on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis is the hub of the action. Minneapolis is second in the nation for the number of theatre companies and groups.  The 95-member Minnesota Orchestra performs more than 200 concerts each year and the Minnesota Opera has attracted international attention for its operas. The Guthrie Theatre on the banks of the Mississippi never fails to deliver a yearly rendition of a Christmas Carol. There are as many  as 100 other stages like the Ordway, Children’s Theater, The Historic Orpheum, The Jungle Theatre, the Tony-Award winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune and State Theatre to name a few.
