Sports enthusiasts love the fact that the Twin Cities offers every opportunity to catch a pro team in action or take advantage of the approximately 137,000 acres of land set aside for parks, trails, and wildlife areas. There are 949 lakes in the metro area offering endless miles of lakeshore paths, and old railroad beds that have been turned into pathways for biking, running and skating.
The Metrodome, located in Downtown Minneapolis, is home to the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. The Target Center hosts the NBA Timberwolves and WNBA Minnesota Lynx. Whilst the Excel Center in St. Paul hosts the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
According to the National Golf Foundation, the state of Minnesota houses more golfers per capita than any other state in the nation. There are more than 490 golf courses in Minnesota – 150 in the Twin Cities.
